Sometimes, under certain light conditions, it seems that the "open sea" of the Crete Senesi Landscape really ripples just like an ocean, with the rhythmic movement of the smooth rolling clay hills instead of the waves.
Other times, in certain weather conditions, when the misty of thermal inversion (a phenomenon frequent especially in Autumn and Spring) begins to ascend from the bottom of the valleys to the flanks of the gullies, then it seems that the earth is really breathing.
